I just put all my projects and VSTs on OneDrive. The keyboard is so thin that it's almost not there but it does let me type. It's also one of the reasons I choose Surface as a tablet. For me it worked just the same as any other Windows version. PeteMe, I'll just keep doing what I've done since the dawn of Windows: hit the Window button and type what I want to do So much simpler! This is one of the reasons I couldn't understand the uproar against Win 8. Notice that groups were moved over whole, and the tiles themselves are made a bit larger. Now here is the same thing, with no changes on my part, in tablet mode. You can change the height of the start menu as you want, but width is in multiples of group size.

Here are two screen shots from my Surface Pro 3. Going back to the discussion about how the start menu does or does not adjust when in tablet mode vs desktop mode. I think a auto-fill with easier to find alphabet entries without the need to scroll too much would be a good goal IMO. Yes the start is all easy to setup to your own needs I just need to do it myself. I find the current alphabetized listing of "all apps" to not be as clear to my needs. I personally want simpler interface without tile sized pictures of what I'm using, I also prefer Icon's layed out in a smart fashion, I don't need to see every available option right away but want to have it accessed quickly when I do want to bring up any particular app/set of tools/documents/editors/etc. The desktop version needs work so that it appealing to desktops. Thing being here that it's not just a quicklink to the alphabetized "all apps" but to folder specific entries.

So with layering such as alphabet/numberical -> software titles - > all entries.

With a simple plane to navigate to a specific pane(s). I think I'd rather see something like a default to the alphabet (eg click on alphabet letter) and placed in something like that. PeteDoesn't look too bad on the tablet, but the surface one. I appreciate any light you can shed to help me get this one problem I'm having with DP on Windows to work. The Question: Is there any way to do a Scale option like a Mac allows on Windows 7? Or I guess a more applicable question for this thread would be: Will Windows 10 allow for the Scale function in Page Setup like the Mac does?

I can reduce or enlarge the page size in Win7 but that doesn't allow more staves to show up for printing, it simply makes the same amount of staves showing appear smaller! The problem on Win7 is that there is no Scale feature (at least that I or MOTU techs have discovered) to allow this to manifest in Page Setup or anywhere else. It allows me to go from say 12 staves on a page to 30 or more, depending on how much I reduce the Scale.

On the Mac there's a feature in Page Setup called "Scale" that allows me to reduce (or enlarge) the notation size and this allows me to include many more staves of music in my Quickscribe printout. The Problem: I use the Quickscribe notation feature in DP daily to get score notation printed out so I can look at it as I orchestrate in Sibelius or Finale. I'm a happy camper on DP in Win7 but I have one problem that MOTU hasn't been able to solve that I believe may be an OS (Windows) problem.

I moved over to Windows 7 over two years ago when MOTU announced compatability to Windows as I had a computer built that cost 1/4 of the equivalent Mac. I have a question for you if you might have time to answer it:īackground: I have been a Digital Performer user since 1985 (when it was just Performer) and it's my preferred DAW. Again, thanks so much for your great insight and info on Win10.
